with Prof. Jeffrey Gurock

4 Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET

Feb. 6-27

All classes will be recorded and sent to registrants.

These days, fans are used to Jewish athletes succeeding in every sport, from football to tennis to gymnastics. Of course, that wasn’t always the case — and not for a lack of talent.

Throughout American history, Jews’ inclusion in or exclusion from the world of sports has been a gauge of their status and progress in the United States. Along the way, Jewish athletes have overcome pernicious obstacles and stereotypes even aa their quests for victories have challenged their Jewish identities.

In this unique new on line course join renowned Yeshiva University Prof. Jeffrey Gurock , a top expert on Jewish sports history, as he explores how outstanding Jewish athletes faced and battled against oppositions in so many historical arenas. He will also highlight how sports have been a force in the lives of countless American Jewish men and women who never aspired to run in the Olympics.

Each of the four class sessions will be one hour long, on Zoom, and all registrants will receive recordings of each class that won’t expire.

You won’t have to be a sports fan to learn from this rich and distinctive history course!

Purchases of this course are non-refundable.
