How to Capture Your Family Story
4 Thursdays at 7 p.m. ET
Sept. 4 - 25
Wouldn't it feel good to capture your family history on audio/video so that future generations can hear precious stories from their past?
In this four-week course from My Jewish Learning, award-winning storyteller Danielle Dardashti will provide you with an easy-to-use roadmap for creating a multi-media family story time capsule.
She will prepare you to do an audio/video interview with family members, and she’ll walk you through a specific plan for recording, transcribing, storing, organizing, sharing and preserving your family stories.
If you aren't technologically skilled at this sort of thing, don't worry — Danielle is used to helping storytellers of all kinds! And you will get to keep the recordings of class, so you can review them as many times as you'd like.
You'll leave the course with enough material to create your own family history multimedia project — a podcast, video, or any other kind of digital story.

In the 1950s, a religious Jew — Younes Dardashti — became a national celebrity in Iran, singing at the Shah’s palace and on the radio. In the 1960s, his son Farid became a teen idol on TV. They were beloved by Iranian Muslims. But at the height of their fame, they left the country.
